What a design proof is
A design proof is a preview of your product with your artwork on it. Every PrintVow order includes a free design proof, and we start production only after you approve it. It’s your last chance to catch mistakes.
The proof checklist
Words
- Read every word out loud, slowly.
- Check the spelling of names, places and company names against your source.
- Check dates, years and phone numbers digit by digit.
- Check URLs and email addresses.
Design
- The logo is the right version (current, not old).
- Colors match what you asked for. Screens show color differently from print, so judge contrast more than exact shade.
- Text is big enough to read at a normal distance.
- Nothing important sits too close to the edge.
Product details
- The product style is right (for example debossed, embossed, printed or glow wristbands).
- The size is right (for example 2.12 x 3.38 in or 3.15 x 4.72 in PVC cards; 4, 6 or 8 ft table covers).
- The finish or style is right (for example glossy, matte or frosted cards; throw, fitted or stretch covers).
- Details such as band size, material or attachment are clearly shown on the proof.
- The quantity is right.
Personalization
- If each item has a different name, every name on your list appears once.
- Names are spelled the way each person spells them.
Get a second set of eyes
Ask someone who didn’t write the text to check it. People who wrote the words tend to read what they meant, not what’s there.
Example: A wedding planner sends the can cooler proof to both partners and the maid of honor. The maid of honor catches that the date says 2026 instead of 2027.
