How to Order Custom Promo Products Without Missing Your Event Date
A simple timeline for ordering custom wristbands, lanyards, table covers and more without missing your event date: proof, production, shipping and rush.
Quick answer: Count back about three weeks from your event. At PrintVow, standard orders take 3–5 business days to produce and 5–7 business days to ship, and production starts only after you approve your free design proof. If you’re short on time, rush ($30) cuts that to 1–3 business days of production plus 3–5 business days of shipping.
How long does a custom order take?
Every custom order has three stages:
- Proof. We send a free design proof. You check it, ask for changes and approve it. This part is up to you, so a fast reply saves days.
- Production. 3–5 business days on standard, or 1–3 on rush.
- Shipping. Free standard shipping worldwide by USPS or UPS takes 5–7 business days, or 3–5 business days on rush.
- Standard total after proof approval: 8–12 business days
- Rush ($30) total after proof approval: 4–8 business days
Business days don’t include weekends or holidays, so 12 business days is closer to two and a half calendar weeks.
Build your timeline backward from the event
Start with the date you need the products in hand, not the event date. Give yourself a buffer of at least two business days to unpack, check and sort everything.
Example: A school spirit night is on Friday, March 12, 2027.
- Products in hand by: Wednesday, March 10 (two business days of buffer)
- Latest ship date (standard, up to 7 business days): Monday, March 1
- Latest production start (up to 5 business days): Monday, February 22
- Approve your proof by: Friday, February 19
- Request your proof by: about Wednesday, February 17, to leave 1–2 days for revisions
If you only start planning around March 1, ask for rush ($30) when you order.
What slows orders down (and how to avoid it)
Late proof approval
The clock starts when you approve. Reply the same day if you can, and send all your changes in one message.
Missing or low-quality artwork
Send your logo as a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) or a large PNG. Blurry artwork means another proof round.
Unclear quantities or details
Decide the quantity, colors and any names before you ask for a proof. Most of our products have no minimum, so you can order exactly what you need.
Holiday shipping peaks
Carriers get busier in late November and December. Order earlier around the holidays, and check the USPS holiday shipping dates if you’ll be mailing products on to other people.

Check your order the day it arrives
Open every box as soon as it lands. We don’t offer refunds, but if there’s a valid issue, report it within 24 hours of delivery and we’ll remake it free. A buffer of a few days before the event leaves room for that.
